Levite is operated by Adriatic Neural Network LLC (TX SOS 806633936, 5900 Balcones Drive #8733, Austin, TX 78731). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Levite pattern-recognition platform.

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Information You Provide

• Account information: Email address, display name, and password when you register.
• Birth data: Date of birth, exact time of birth, and place of birth (city, state/province, country), provided to generate your sidereal birth pattern.
• Profile preferences: Timezone, preferred language, notification settings.
• User content: Notes, saved readings, chart annotations, shared chart links, and any other content you create within the Service.
• Communications: Information you provide when contacting support (support@levite.app).

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Pages viewed, features used, session duration, interaction with chart interpretations, and feature engagement metrics.
• Device information: Browser type and version, operating system, device type, IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies: Session cookies (required for authentication), analytics cookies (optional — see Section 7).

1.3. Information from Third Parties

• If you sign in via a third-party authentication provider (e.g., Google, Apple), we receive the email address and name associated with that account.
• We do not actively collect data from social media or other external sources beyond what you provide.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Service: Calculate birth charts, generate plain-language pattern interpretations (natal, transit, progressed, synastry), display timing windows, and manage your account.
• Improve our models: Aggregated, de-identified chart data and interpretation feedback may be used to train and improve our pattern-reading algorithms and machine learning models. This is done at the dataset level — individual records are not used to make decisions about you.
• Communicate with you: Send transactional emails (billing confirmations, password resets, service announcements), respond to support inquiries, and (with your consent) send periodic newsletters or feature updates.
• Maintain security: Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms of Service.
• Comply with legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests from regulators or courts, and enforce our rights.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

3.1. Storage location

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States.

3.2. Security measures

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) for all data exchanged between your browser and our servers
• Encryption at rest for stored personal data and birth chart records
• Access controls restricting employee and contractor access to production data
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates

3.3. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain minimal data for up to 90 days to comply with legal obligations (e.g., billing records, tax records) and then permanently delete or anonymize the remainder.

3.4. No data is stored on-device

No data is stored on-device beyond temporary session tokens (short-lived JWTs).

4. Data Sharing and Subprocessors

4.1. We do not sell your personal data.

4.2. Service Providers (Subprocessors)

We use the following third-party service providers who process your data on our behalf. Each is contractually bound to process data only for the purposes described in this policy and to maintain equivalent security standards.

4.3. Legal Disclosures

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process (e.g., subpoena, court order), or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection / Restriction: Object to or request restriction of certain processing activities.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via the account settings page or by contacting support. Deletion removes your profile, birth data, saved readings, and notes. Billing records are retained for tax/accounting purposes as required by law.

User Data Deletion

You may request deletion of all data associated with your Levite account at any time. We honor deletion requests within 30 calendar days.

Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)

1. Log in to your account at levite.live
2. Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account
3. Confirm the deletion — your data will be permanently removed within 30 days

Option 2: Email Request

Send a deletion request from the email address associated with your account to legal@levite.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

• Profile and account information (email, name, preferences)
• Birth chart and all astrological data (date, time, place of birth)
• Saved readings, interpretations, notes, and annotations
• Shared chart links and relationship data
• Session and authentication tokens

What Is Retained

Billing records and transaction logs are retained for tax and accounting compliance as required by law (typically 7 years). These records contain only the minimum necessary data (stripe customer ID, transaction dates, amounts).

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

7. Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in.

We use minimal analytics to understand feature usage and diagnose issues. Analytics are anonymized where practical.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Jurisdiction-Specific Disclosures

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your rights

EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing your data:

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service (account management, chart calculations, billing)

You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Texas Residents

Under Texas law (Texas Business and Commerce Code § 521 et seq.), you have the right to access and correct your personal information held by us, subject to reasonable verification and legal exceptions.
